We build apps - mobile and web -
that improve our clients’ worlds
We build apps - mobile and web -
that improve our clients’ worlds

Overview

We are natural problem solvers. It’s our passion. Our clients come to us looking for someone to help them solve a technology problem. Maybe they want to sell their products online. Sometimes they are looking for ways to make their teams faster, more efficient. Every once in a while someone walks in the door with an idea for the next great app.

We build websites, mobile apps and custom hardware. We also help train technical teams, guide the lifecycle of products and setup the foundation for new companies.

Our goal is to solve the problem, we’re not picky about how we get there so long as once we’re finished, our client’s are better off for the time we’ve spent working together.

What We Do

Here are a few ways we get the job done:

Technical Direction

Sometimes the only thing that’s needed is a bit of advice. We’ve worked with companies big and small to help provide that guidance. This takes many forms. Sometimes we do research, figuring out what platform or technology is the right fit. Sometimes we help recruit an in-house technology team. Every now and then we step in to serve as interim technical leadership during a transition. We’re happy to provide our expertise to help move our client’s forward.

Product Planning

So you want to build the next big thing online? We can help. We’ve worked with startup companies to launch their MVP and Fortune 500s who are moving into a new market for the first time. We’ll work together to plan out the product, build a design and brand and get it out to market. We’ll also setup a roadmap for the future, because the launch is only the beginning.

Web Development

The web is alive and well. From B2B to online travel. From public radio to education we have built a lot of websites and web applications. We’ve worked with wide range of technologies as well: Ruby on Rails, ASP .NET MVC, Bootstrap, Angular 2, Backbone and many more. Everything we create is mobile responsive and custom designed for our clients. We always focus on choosing the right tool for the job and making sure that when our work is finished our client’s can maintain their site well into the future.

App Development

When Bill Gates dreamed of a computer in every home he couldn’t have imagined that computer would fit in his pocket. The rise of mobile has changed the world and reshaped how we conduct business. We’ve been fortunate enough to help a few great companies take advantage of the best that mobile has to offer. Android or iOS, even cross-platform tools like PhoneGap, NativeScript and Ionic - our focus is on building the right app for the audience.

Movable

fitness app development

MOVABLE is a simple, cost-effective wrist-worn activity monitor (MOVband) and activity awareness program (MOVchallenge), which together can be managed on or offline. Through collaboration with Movable, Level Seven assisted the local Brecksville, Ohio startup in developing both the sensor technology that allows the band to calculate movement, as well as the online portal where users can view fitness trends, set goals and participate in challenges. As a result of this project’s success, Movable grew exponentially in size and created an in-house development team. However, Movable still utilizes Level Seven’s expertise for hosting and portal updates.
Inspired by the owner’s wife, MOVABLE was founded in 2011 on a mission to improve health and performance of kids. Combining a simple fun wrist-worn monitor with a highly social school activity program, MOVABLE educates, motivates and empowers kids to make healthy decisions that last a lifetime.
Challenge: When users unplugged their MOVband updating the device’s software, causing the process to fail and to lock the user out of the system.
Solution: The user experience directors at Level Seven design a more effective messaging to the user about the progress of their update. And, recommended the above graphic to be added to the display when they user connects their MOVband and starts the firmware upgrade.
The team at Level Seven has provided the technology expertise that has helped us get where we are today. Their team has helped us from getting off of the ground to helping us grow by providing informed recommendations as to which technologies are the best fit for us, development, project management and creative. We enjoy the comfort of knowing that if we run into a tech-related challenge, the team at Level Seven will roll up their sleeves and dig in.

Dix Communications

responsive website design & development

Since early 2011, Level Seven has partnered with Dix Communication, a century old family owned media and communications company based out of Kent, Ohio. To keep up with user’s desires to access their media using their mobile devices, Level Seven architected, managed and executed a project to modernize their internet publishing system - Newscloud CMS - for a mobile audience.
Dix Communications was seeking to maintain the integrity of their century old media brands while also appealing to a younger tech-savvy customer base. The Level Seven team worked with the publishers and editorial staff of their newspapers to build a series of designs for the new mobile experience. The goal was to retain the authority of a traditional newspaper but provide the modern convenience of online news. The final design was selected for is clean but flexible approach.
Building a new user interface for Newscloud CMS provided the opportunity to improve upon the original system. The Level Seven team proposed the creation of a flexible page layout system, where the editorial staff of the paper could use their homepage to convey the importance of the day’s news. The page layout creator also allowed each paper to feature different content in a different arrangement which helps them better serve the unique needs of their communities.
The Level Seven team has been instrumental in providing IT support for past three years as well as custom application development expertise to create mobile responsive version of our news websites to better serve our audience. The staff was extremely attentive and worked diligently to provide us with a product that allows us to serve news, information, and advertising in an easy-to-use format. Some of our markets have increased mobile website traffic more than 100%.

City Club

brand identity, responsive
web design

Since it's incorporation in 1912, The City Club of Cleveland has been the "Citadel of Free Speech." They bring non-partisan debates to an open forum while engaging with the audience. But the City Club faced a dilemma common to storied organizations, how to attract a younger audience without changing who they are. They reached out to Level Seven, and together we rebranded, redesigned, and relaunched the City Club.
We created a modern design that engages the user while also keeping focus on the forums. The City Club needed integration with Cvent to manage their events. When there was no easy way to get to Cvent, we built a customized gem to bring Cvent to us. Integrating payment systems, a CMS, and Cvent, we tailored a site suited to The City Club's needs. Since the site has launched, the City Club has seen an increase in memberships and donations.
From the very beginning, we had a great experience with the Level Seven team. They are professional, responsive, collaborative and very creative. In projects like this, no matter how much you think you know about what you want, it will change as the work progresses. With Level Seven's process and leadership, we were able to anticipate and accommodate those changes without blowing our budget and while still successfully accomplishing what we set out to do.

Lippert

brand identity, website, video

Lippert, a thirty-year-old company that focuses on slow moving inventory in niche markets, needed a better way to tell their story. The company wanted to show people why their services are better than the “scrap” alternatives in a dramatic, memorable fashion.
The Level Seven team created a .Net web portal to better manage the slow moving inventory. This portal was built as a Business to Business eCommerce system that utilized inventory data that was stored within Navision. Overall, the portal gave customers the ability to place orders and browse current inventory. The portal also kept the sales team informed, allowing them knowledge and access to these sales leads.
The logo, letterhead and all other marketing collateral are designed to contribute to the Lippert story. This brand identity is designed to provide a consistent message to their customers that is difficult to replicate.
Level Seven helped Lippert identify their “secret sauce” by developing the Partner Optimized Inventory Management (PIM) Model. This model is a long-range business strategy that helps partners, like Lippert, accomplish financial goals of inventory reduction while significantly improving Return on Assets (ROA). To better communicate this competitive advantage, Level Seven created a cradle-to-grave video that visually shows how the Lippert solution gives customers a better ROA by easing the tension between the warehouse and sales force.

Cleveland Clinic

ios app development

The Cleveland Clinic, a worldwide leader in innovation, research and education among multispecialty academic hospital systems, needed an iPad only application to support the Annual Innovation Summit- an event designed to bring capital investors and medical research together to launch companies around Cleveland Clinic patents.
Level Seven built an iPad application driven by a robust back-end CMS that allows the Clinic staff to load new content into a web-based portal and deploy that content in realtime for both the event itself, as well as for ongoing communication with event attendees.
